I give it a top review for the beginner interested in the Stock Market. Stock Investing for Dummies is the first in the "for dummies" series that I've ever read, and it is so easy to understand, and gives such excellent step by step strategies that I both recommend it to all interested in the subject, and was urged to go back to the "for dummies" series for another text book. Everyone should have the opportunity in this country to be able to make passive incomes. Everyone in this country has the opportunity to plan a successful retirement, without counting on the government and their 401k.
If you have already been trading/investing/speculating, and wish to brush up on principles or add new techniques to your repertoire, this book won't help you much.go for something a little more advanced. The author seems very well informed and credentialed. This book is written for those who have never traded a single share in their life. Basic practices are broken down and explained, covering all of the why's, how's, and waht if's.
Gives you the basics that build the blocks for a solid foundation on the stock market.
i know this book is for dummies like me but there are so many errors in this book, for example look at page 84 under P/E 2nd paragraph it talk about P/E but it quotes the yld for SHC
You cannot expect that it will teach you to be a solid investor, or even that you will be able to differentiate between good stocks and those that are about to crash, but it will give you the basic knowledge that you need to understand the stock market and further your financial management abilities. "Stock Investing for Dummies" provides the reader with very basic instruction on stocks and investing. I doubt that anyone would buy a "Dummies" book expecting to find an in-depth, comprehensive treatment of the topic, but instead is looking for a simple and straightforward introduction to stock investing. This book definitely serves its purpose.
